Register

This event is a low-stakes opportunity for students interested in topics broadly related to the Institute for Trustworthy AI in Law and Society (TRAILS) to come together, mingle, and explore ideas in a supportive and welcoming environment. It will include talks, opportunities to introduce yourselves and meet potential collaborators, as well as weigh in on what student research seed project funding might look like. Participants are invited to give a 5-minute talk on any of the following:

  • Current research projects

  • Research interests or open questions

  • Early-stage ideas or potential collaboration opportunities

There is no requirement to prepare slides or a formal presentation—you are welcome to simply get up and share, even briefly. The goal is to hear from you and create space for conversation and connection.

The event will take place in person on the UMD (IRB5107) and GW (SEH 4990) campuses, with an online option via Zoom for those who cannot attend physically. Food will be provided at the in-person locations.

You’ll be surrounded by peers and other interested students not only from computer science, but from a wide range of departments and disciplines. This gathering is meant to be informal, inclusive, and collaborative—an opportunity to learn about each other’s work and spark new connections. We are really looking forward to seeing you and hearing your ideas!
